Job Summary
Temporary, part-time instructor for face to face courses at the Ankeny Campus starting Fall Semester 2025.
Essential Functions
Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi. Develops and/or utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students. Fosters a safe and civil learning environment. Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies. Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.
Required Qualifications
To teach non-applied or direct transfer courses (i.e., CRJ 100, 141, 196, 197, 200, 201, 220, 237): Master of Criminal Justice, Law degree, or master’s degree (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Public Administration, or Homeland Security) with at least 12 GSH in a combination of the qualifying fields that provide a foundation in the specific subject matter being taught.
To teach applied courses (i.e., CRJ 101, 107, 109, 111, 120, 128, 178, 179, 222, 245, 292, 293, 294, 297, 298, 301, 302, 303, 305, 325, 326, 327, 328, 329, 333, 932, 949): Bachelor’s degree and a combination of formal training and professional tested experience equivalent to 6,000 hours (3 years).
To teach applied courses (i.e., CRJ 101, 107, 109, 111, 120, 128, 178, 179, 222, 245, 292, 293, 294, 297, 298, 301, 302, 303, 305, 325, 326, 327, 328, 329, 333, 932, 949): Bachelor’s degree and a combination of formal training and professional tested experience equivalent to 6,000 hours (3 years).
