General Summary:
The bartender is responsible for stocking the bar, serving drinks, maintaining a clean and orderly work area and assists in beverage inventory and requisition. In addition, the bartender assists on the floor with food service when necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Mixes and serve alcoholic drinks to order.
2. Responsible for maintaining an adequate supply of glassware and restocking glassware.
3. Maintains an adequate supply of liquors, beers, wines, sodas, and mixers by requisitioning such supplies at the end of each shift or throughout the shift.
4. Ensures orders are made in a fair and timely manner and in a sequenced order.
5. Acquires a working knowledge of the menu and beverage and wine service and can answer questions about the same.
6. Responsible for sale tickets. Proper entering of member information and Food & Beverage orders. Sees that member sign tickets.
7. Responsible for daily inventory, requisition and end-of-the-month inventory.
8. May establish recipes for drinks and set up portion controls for beverages upon approval of the Clubhouse Manager.
9. Waits on members and guests when necessary.
10. Should possess knowledge of various types of liquors, beers, wines, mixed drinks, etc. 11. Ensures compliance with various state statutes and club policy on alcohol service
12. Be prepared to assist co-workers in any department.
13. Any other duties not stated as assigned.
Work Environment:
Work is performed inside a controlled atmosphere which includes the outdoor patio during summer months. Position requires long periods of walking and standing. Individual must be able to lift and carry trays with food and dishes which may weigh up to 35 pounds.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Must be neat, cooperative, and cheerful with member and fellow employees.
2. Must have knowledge of food and beverage serving skills normally acquired through on the job training and a minimum of three months experience.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills required to be courteous in greeting members and communicating menu items.
