General Summary:
Performs valet parking service for members and their guests who request the service. Helps guests enter the Club by assisting them from their cars. Hold the Clubhouse doors open for guests as they enter and exit the Club. Gracious hospitality is our foremost goal.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Valet is the guests first impression of the Club. Both your appearance and attitude should be positive. Report to work in clean, proper uniform: Club shirt, black dress slacks, and tennis shoes. Smile and greet the guests in a friendly way. (Winter uniform: DMGCC coat and black stocking cap.)
- See that the valet parking sign is displayed properly, then covered at the close of business.
- As cars pull up, quickly open car doors for both passengers and the driver. Make sure driver receives a numbered receipt. If not able to open doors for all open for the women.
- Open the doors for ALL guests with a smile, not only parking guests.
- Always drive cautiously, no matter how busy you may be. Follow the proper flow of traffic through the lot. Do not touch controls, or personal belongings in cars: radios, seat, etc.
- Lock each car and return keys to security box.
- Wear a glow-in-the-dark vest after dark so that you may be seen.
- Use one parking space per car. If requested, a car can be parked away from other cars, at the far end of the lot.
- Report any parking violation you observe in the lot. Report any accident you may be involved in we have insurance, so dont hesitate to tell the truth about the incident
- A golf cart may be used for large parties before dark. Keep it clean and presentable and report any mechanical problems.
- Make a periodic tour of the parking lot. Be aware of strangers entering the parking lots. Let them know that you are aware of their presence.
- Maintain proper control of keys and car receipts.
- Cell phones are not permitted in work area, please only use in Employee Break Room.
- Reading and/or study materials should not distract you from your duties.
- Use a flashlight with the orange cover on busy nights to direct cars into the circle. This way people understand we have valet service.
- See that the entrance and lobby area of the Club are neat and orderly. Keep cans, cups, etc. out of sight and use Country Club cups only.
- Check restrooms periodically for paper and that wash towels are stocked. Alert manager on duty of any serious problem.
- Valets are to stay in their designated area.
- Rain suits and umbrellas are available when necessary. Please use them for the benefit of all.
- Do not leave cars on the Circle without manager approval. Let the manager know how many cars are left.
- Settle tips for the day in a discreet manner. Never count your money in sight of guests.
- Other duties that may be assigned.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to withstand long periods of time on their feet and walking various distances. Must be able to deal with in stressful situations in a respectful manner, while ultimately correcting the problem. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Must be licensed driver capable of driving a car safely
- Must have a neat and well-groomed appearance.
