What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credentialing Specialist position at Des Moines Orthopaedic Surgeons?
Des Moines Orthopaedic Surgeons, P.C. (DMOS) is seeking a well organized individual to join our team as a Credentialing Specialist! You will be responsible for all aspects of credentialing, recredentialing and privileging processes for our providers (Medical and Allied Health). You will maintain up-to-date data for each provider in credentialing databases, online systems and DMOS billing software. You hold (or seeking to obtain) a current certification as a Certified Provider Credentials Specialist. This is a full-time opportunity.

Do I want this job? You will be maintaining provider files to include up to date information necessary for credentialing applications. You are able to research and gather pertinent information regarding healthcare facilities and staff. You are aware of the necessary requirements for providers to maintain medical licensing and certification. You will be communicating with providers, health insurance companies and healthcare facilities to obtain necessary information to gain privileges and credentialing. You will be naturally curious, friendly and helpful.
Can I do this job? You have an active Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS) certification OR you have a minimum of 3 years of experience in credentialing in the healthcare industry. You must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time that may seem unnatural. You can multi-task while staying organized and collected. You have great communication skills both verbal and via email. You have great typing and computer skills.
