DAYS: Academic School Year Calendar HOURS: 8 Hour Day
BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide security for school district facilities, detect mechanical failures, use central monitoring system, and respond to calls from police, citizens, or alarm drops at district facilities. This position requires continuous use of independent judgement. The essential functions represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the security department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform security duties in accordance with approved policies andprocedures.
2. Respond to calls from building personnel.
3. Check all alarms detected by monitoringsystem.
4. Maintain constant radio communication between patrol anddispatcher.
5. Secure all possible information on eachcase.
6. Perform tasks as required or assigned in order to be responsive to unique district needs and staffing requirements.
7. Complete written reports accurately; effectively communicate oral and written information with personnel on other shifts, as needed.
8. Maintain equipment and communicate equipment needs to SecuritySupervisor.
9. Adhere to district work rules.

- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
- Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required:
1. High School Diploma, HiSET, or GED
2. Competency working in diverseenvironment
3. Two years of experience in law enforcement or security
4. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the previous five years
5. Knowledge of telephone, radio communication devices, monitoring equipment and various implements for security
6. Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.
Desired:
Four years of experience in law enforcement and a valid 1 st class stationary engineer’s license
