While specific locations for positions are not yet known, we are able to make offers for "Location To Be Determined" positions for those looking to secure employment for the upcoming school year.Social Studies teachers with an ALL SOCIAL STUDIES endorsement are in particular demand.Salary numbers in this posting are based on the 24-25 salary schedule, as 25-26 salary information has not yet been set.TITLE : TCHR General Education Teacher K-12 DEPARTMENT : Teaching and Learning REPORTS TO : Building Administrator(s) RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM : Building Administrator(s), Directors of Elementary and Secondary Education, Curriculum CoordinatorPOSITION INVENTORY : C 52 POSITION TYPE : TCHR FLSA STATUS : Exempt FT / PT : Full Time, 199 Days Year 1, 195 Days in Subsequent YearsBASIC FUNCTION : Responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality educational program to meet children's academic and social-emotional needs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Deliver daily lessons, aligned to state and district standards that meet students' individual needs and ensure growth. Create a culturally inclusive classroom that meets the academic and social emotional needs of students. Participate in building and district professional learning communities to plan for instruction, analyze data, and create assessments. Monitor student learning on a daily basis. Use multiple data points to guide and individualize instruction. Communicate with families on a regular basis. Participate in professional development. Demonstrate consistent progress on meeting the eight Iowa Teaching Standards ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position) : Attend work on a prompt and regular basis. Maintain confidentiality. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees. Assist with other duties as may be assigned. HIRING SPECIFICATIONS : Required : Valid Iowa teaching license (appropriate endorsement code for teaching assignment). Knowledge of subject, curriculum, effective teaching methods. Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communications. Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills. Desired : Previous classroom teaching experience. Experience in an urban school district.
