JOB IDENTIFICATION
Job Title: Pool Attendant- Mystic Waters, Chippewa Pool and Arndt Pool
Grade: I
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Department: Recreation
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Aquatic Manager, Aquatic Supervisor, Assistant Aquatic Manager, Site Specific Pool Manger
Supervises: N/A
BASIC FUNCTION
A Pool Attendant will facilitate the use of special attractions at Mystics Waters such as the Lazy River and Water Slides by patrons, as well as assist in the enforcement of facility rules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Consistently enforce the rules and regulations of the facility and the District to ensure the safety of guests.
- Safely dispatch guests using the waterslides and the drop slides.
- Assist guest with tubes at entrance and exit of Lazy River.
- Supervise sand area, Dolphin Slide and Splash Playground.
- Perform Opening and Closing responsibilities as assigned.
- Complete all task checklists throughout the day to ensure necessary cleaning is accomplished.
- Monitor guests exciting locker rooms.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness of the facility. Including facility sanitation.
- Demonstrate and promote positive guest relations and exceptional customer service.
- Rotate to all stations in a timely manner to ensure smooth and fair rotation and break schedules.
- Communicate with Lifeguards at slide stations to identify rule offenders or other problems while keeping communication at a professional tone.
- Participate in scheduled in-service training.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evening and weekend hours and July 4th.
- Work as part of a team effort in all emergencies according to the Emergency Action Plan.
OTHER DUTIES
- Direct uncooperative or dissatisfied guest to a manager.
- Make all safety issues or other questions and concerns know to either a Head Lifeguard or Facility Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of staff lounge.
- Assist in an emergency situation as needed.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Crisis Manual
- Assist with emergency facility closing due to weather or other.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Some High School education.
Experience: No prior work experience required. 16 years of age.
Certifications: CPR and/or First Aid training preferred
