JOB DEFINITION :
Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for leading the day-to-day management of DESC's digital channels and creating engaging content to support the organization's mission. This position requires a dynamic individual who can effectively manage digital platforms, develop creative content, and contribute to DESC's communications strategies while upholding our core values of equity, person-centered care, human dignity, and community-centrism.
The Communications Coordinator will play a crucial role in increasing engagement with DESC's audiences and stakeholders through various digital channels. This position demands a person with proven experience in digital content planning, production, and management, who can develop content for a range of platforms including online / web, social media, email, and print.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead the day-to-day management of DESC's digital channels, creating inspirational, informative, and engaging content that aligns with our mission and values.
- Plan, produce, and create a pipeline of digital content that can be repurposed and adapted for various audiences and platforms.
- Develop creative ideas and suggest innovative ways of delivering digital content, keeping up to date with the latest digital marketing trends.
- Create graphics for social media, email, and website and collaborate with contracted designers for larger projects.
- Track, analyze, and report on the performance of DESC’s digital content and platforms using the data to inform future communications.
- Support the Senior Communications Manager in implementing effective communications and media relations strategies.
- Ensure accessible and inclusive communication strategies are utilized across all platforms.
- Manage DESC’s media inbox and media mentions.
- Provide general copy-editing and proofreading support.
- Update and manage DESC’s external website and its content.
