We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Comptroller to join our team and support our financial operations.
The Senior Comptroller manages the overall direction and coordination of the day-to-day functions of the Accounting Department. Supervises the accounting staff performing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, and general ledger functions using Deltek Costpoint, for DESE Research and each of the subsidiaries.
- Oversee all financial operations and ensure compliance with federal regulations and accounting standards.
- Manages general ledger accounts and DESE Entities accounts' reconciliation. Prepares for the new year including setting up accounting and payroll calendar and making necessary changes to orgs and accounts.
- Responsible for the budgeting process and indirect rates structure of the company for the current year and forward pricing rates.
- Manage the accounting team and ensure the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Coordinate audits, both internal and external, ensuring timely resolutions of any issues.
- Responsible for calculating and/or reviewing forward pricing rates within proposals using financial forecasting methods.
- Reviews and updates company accounting policies and assists other departments in updating policies that are indirectly related to the Accounting Department.
- Updates financial statement users with audited financial statements. As needed, research risk issues concerning DCAA, payroll, liability, and other financial issues.
- Requires expert level skills with Deltek Costpoint software for general ledger, accounts payable, time and expense, and expense reimbursements.
Education Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10-15 years of Federal Contractor accounting experience and corporations with multiple entities.
- Candidate must have eight years of Deltek Costpoint and QuickBooks experience.
- Strong understanding of government contracting regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational abilities.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a finance team.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
