What are the responsibilities and job description for the Comment Moderator, KSL.com (Hybrid, Utah) position at Deseret Digital Media?

Deseret Digital Media (we call ourselves DDM), the home of the mildly addictive KSL.com, is seeking to hire an exceptional Comment Moderator to join our team.
As a Comment Moderator, you will work with both external customers as well as internal teams, so being able to communicate with a variety of personalities is a must!
Comment moderators are responsible for the content on the KSL.com comment boards. Moderators are to encourage and ensure a civil atmosphere with high-quality dialogue in the KSL.com comment board community.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Accepting or rejecting user submitted comments
- Maintaining civil environment for all who come to KSL.com for their daily news
- Helping users understand the comment board guidelines
- Holding to a consistent schedule while also having availability to take additional schedules if your personal schedule allows
- Staying up to date on current local and world topics and ensuring comments align with the stories posted
- Passing user feedback to new team for correction or story improvements
- Collaborate and work with news product team for user experience expansion
- Manage personal KPI’s related out output and quality metrics
- Collaborate with peers and leadership team to ensure consistency on moderation practices among the team.
In order to complete these tasks, moderators must be familiar with and understand the KSL.com comment board guidelines.
