KSL.com is by far the biggest and most read news site in Utah. We are committed to providing our readers with the latest, most accurate news so they can be well informed. We also believe that good news is exciting to consume and are committed to delivering an engaging product to our readers. You will be a part of a positive, hard-working team. We love working with self-starting news junkies who pay attention to detail and have great communication skills.
This is a hybrid position. Most days you will work from home but will still be required to travel to cover certain stories and events. You will be paid for mileage.
- A passion for breaking news
- A competitive drive to be first in the market and to seek out accurate, confirmed information quickly
- The ability to write news quickly and accurately on a variety of topics
- Solid news judgment
- Knowledge of local public figures and news events
- A commitment to upholding the brand standards of KSL.com and Deseret Digital Media
- The ability to find and write feature stories that highlight the best and brightest people and events in Utah
- At least one year of experience writing for a news outlet
- A college degree, preferably in journalism
- Demonstrated knowledge of Associated Press style
- The ability to multitask and work under pressure
- The ability to find solid, timely story pitches daily
- The ability to work well with others on a team
- A drive to innovate and improve
