Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. This role involves supporting the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children, focusing on their developmental needs and fostering their growth.
- Monday - Friday
- 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- Weekends closed
- All major holidays off
Requirements:
- Must complete a live scan Paperwork (that I have)
- Proof of Immunizations: measles, pertussis, influenza. If you are against the flu shot, that is ok. I can write a letter.
- TB test completed
- Paperwork completed
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care of children, including toddlers, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Implement educational activities that promote learning and development in areas such as language, social skills, and motor skills.
- Support the lead teacher in planning and executing age-appropriate lessons that align with early childhood education standards.
- Engage with children through play, storytelling, and interactive activities to enhance their learning experience.
- Monitor children's behavior and provide guidance on behavior management techniques as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, ensuring all materials are safe and accessible for children.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in childcare practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in daycare settings, nannying, or similar roles is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of toddler care principles and childhood development theories is essential.
- Familiarity with early childhood education practices is highly desirable.
- Training or certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanor in a busy environment.
- A genuine love for working with children and a commitment to fostering their growth and development.
