What are the responsibilities and job description for the Disability Intake Paralegal position at Desert Disability PLC?
A thriving Social Security Disability boutique law firm in Scottsdale immediately seeks a full-time Lead Intake Paralegal. The ideal candidate must be able to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment with other paralegals and attorneys. Impeccable verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills are a must.
Essential Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience handling client intake for a law firm
- Strong emotional strength and maturity to deal effectively with a challenging and vulnerable population while maintaining client confidentiality
- Excellent client and telephone etiquette skills with prior phone experience
- Advanced time management and organizational practices
- Ability to prioritize competing demands, plan daily work activities, punctually attend meetings, and meet all deadlines
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Gmail, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with law firm docket systems (we use Clio Grow and Clio Manage), VOiP services (we use RingCentral), and cloud-based file-sharing services (we use Box).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Primary Duties:
- Field phone calls from 8:30-5:00pm
- Conduct case assessments with new clients and transfer calls to the appropriate team member
- Refer non Social Security Disability Insurance cases to different referral sources
- Evaluate case viability, accepting cases with strong potential and declining those that do not meet firm criteria.
- Maintain organization, add notes, and update client matters within our intake docket system (on Clio Grow)
- Assist clients in complete onboarding forms
- Schedule appointments and calendar attorney and client deadlines.
- Create and maintain personal spreadsheets as needed.
- Assist other case managers with various follow-up phone calls
Pay and Benefits:
- $23.00/hour (starting pay, eligible for initial raise after 120 days)
