What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secondary Market Analyst I position at Desert Financial Credit Union?
The Secondary Market Analyst I is responsible for all aspects of pipeline management and mortgage accounting for all first mortgage loans. The Secondary Market Analyst I will support the distribution of rate sheets, secondary market reporting, and lock desk work-flow by utilizing the pricing engine and investor websites. They will help manage risk and ensure transaction timeliness and accuracy while supporting Secondary Market functions in alignment with reporting, policies, and procedures.
What you will do here:
Secondary Market Operations & Loan Sale Management: Administer all Secondary Market duties that aid the selling or purchasing of loans. Log information related to loan sales, purchases, securities and investments. Prepare and deliver packages to secondary market investors to include the audit of known issues utilizing the audit checklist prepared by management. Ensure accurate delivery of loan data into all Secondary Market investor loan delivery systems including GSE Investor loan delivery systems. Post purchase coordination of cure items requested by Secondary Market investors for Conventional, FHA, or VA loans as requested. Communication of missing delivery information or compliance violations with First Mortgage staff, coordinating the cure of those investor stips on loans delivered for sale to obtain the final wire/purchase advice.
Loan Lock Management & Investor Coordination: Lock loans with investors; research and complete re-locks; revise lock and extension requests in a timely and professional manner. Communicate with investors, monitor investor(s) pipeline for all open commitments and initiate extensions and pair offs as needed. Monitor and manage alerts for the DFCU First pipeline which includes but is not limited to notifying investors and management of any fallout loans and/or commitment issues, obtaining new commitments, monitoring existing commitments, audit check points, and general ledger reconciliations.
Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Assist mortgage loan officers and processors in handling complex issues which includes but is not limited to loan pricing, delivery execution, DFCU policy or program guideline adherence, coordinating exception requests to management, and document follow-up.
Pricing & Rate Sheet Management: Load and distribute the daily rate sheet, track competitive rates, process miscellaneous AM and PM reports. Ensure the accurate and meticulous input of pricing information data into the Loan Operating System for First Mortgages and Keystone. Comply with GSE investor announcements related to guideline updates and pricing policies including loan level price adjustments, program, pricing, deliveries, etc.

What you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience required.
1 years of Secondary Market experience required.
3 years of Mortgage industry experience required.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills to include formulas, filters, mapping required.
Strong computer literacy, data entry, & typing skills required.
Basic math and algebra experience required.
Member service skills and a service oriented mentality. Ability to multi-task and prioritize to effectively meet deadlines/ goals required.
Ability to work in fast paced, frequently changing environments, new technologies, and new processes required.
Communication skills – ability to effectively communicate and present information both in person and over the phone; effective written and verbal communication required.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles required.
Ability to troubleshoot issues and analyze data to identify the potential for process improvements, trends and/or risks required.
