Desert Heights Preparatory Academy is looking to hire a High School History Teacher to join an established High School Team and History Department. We are a program with small class sizes, with a range of 14-22 students in each class. DHPA is a uniform school with a vision that promotes our 3 pillars of Academic Excellence, Integrity of Character, and Social Awareness.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Provide daily instruction to High School students in World History, US History, AP US History and AP Government
- Ensure instruction for High School level courses meet the state standards requirements, Advanced Placement requirements, support success on the ACT and other required assessments, and prepare them for college level coursework.
- Establish a safe and welcoming classroom environment for students with clear expectations and objectives for learning.
- Create and execute coherent and detailed lessons.
- Communicate with students and parents regularly about their progress and goals.
- Work collaboratively with the High School Team, Advisors and Administration.
- Participate as a member of a school community in High School events such as STEAM Night, Prom and Meet the Teacher.
- Deliver lessons inclusive of multiple teaching modalities such as facilitated discussion, independent learning, analysis, hands on opportunities and individualized learning opportunities.
- Build, facilitate, and analyze assessments to drive quality instruction.

Various applications and software systems; Edupoint Educational Systems, Naviance, Office365, Grade Book, Electronic Communication and Curriculum, and Learning Management System.
