Desert Heights Charter School is seeking an afternoon maintenance technician to join our community. You will perform basic repairs, preventative maintenance and setting up for events. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, be skilled with various hand and power tools, landscaping tools and an eye for detail.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Set Up, Clean Up and Re-Setup rooms used for special events on campus
- Complete daily maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical work and painting
- Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
- Lifting and placement of stacking chairs, folding tables and other furnishings, as well as lifting of equipment and pushing/pulling equipment dollies
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Position requires candidate to stand for long periods of time and may have to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
- Accurately interpret and carry out detailed specifications in written and diagram form
- Perform last minute changes as requested by any management regarding event setup, meeting rooms, event exhibits/displays, or equipment adjustment
- Place linens, dress tables, or provide specialized setups for event functions and verify "show readiness" of all rooms for completeness, accuracy, cleanliness, and safety
- Install and dismantle complex performance staging and risers, pipe and drape, screens, lighting, speakers, and custom fabrications to meet client management, as well as venue specifications and safety requirements
- Stock and maintain supply rooms
- Notify management of occurring deficiencies of needs or repairs
- Custodial support expected to maintain cleanliness and organization of event rooms and surrounding areas
- Perform other related duties as requested or required
- Extended evening & weekend work hours are sometimes required
Job Requirements and Skills:
- A work ethic that is collaborative, innovative, resourceful and durable
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches
- Paint, patch, and drywall repair. Minor electrical repairs when needed. HVAC experience is a plus but not required.
