JOB SUMMARY:
The NCT maintains and uses equipment and supplies necessary to perform Bone Density procedures for diagnostic purposes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Note: Desert Imaging unilaterally may change the requirements of this job description at any time. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These include, but are not limited to the following:
- Follow prescribed techniques for producing general and specific x-rays for diagnostic purposes as well as function as a medical assistant to achieve the goals of the facility as directed.
- Prepare patient, machine, room, equipment and materials for x-ray and/or bone density.
- Properly position patient by arranging immobilization and support devices
- Perform radiation protection techniques to limit exposure to patient and medical staff
- Properly adjust equipment controls, determine proper voltage and exposure time.
- Efficiently assisting other technicians by performing a range of administrative and clinical tasks
