Looking to hire for a medical secretary / medical assistant role at Desert Internal Medicine in Tucson, AZ. This job will entail working at both the front (medical secretary) and back (medical assistant) roles within of the office. All of our employees are cross-trained for these duties in order to provide comprehensive services to our patients. Looking for friendly personality, good team work, and cooperative work ethic with patients and co-workers. Applicants should have reliable transportation. Applicants should also be aware of HIPAA compliance standards. Starting wages based on level of experience. Must be a non-smoker to apply.
Responsibilities
Front:
-Answering phones
-Taking messages to relay to our physicians
-Patient intake (checking insurance, receiving co-pays)
-Patient scheduling
-Documentation filing within physical charts
-Phone call appointment reminders
-Etc.
Back:
-Patient rooming
-Collecting patient vitals (Wt, Ht, Temp, HR, RR, Blood pressure, pulse oximetry, peak flow, smoking status)
-On-site training for these tasks as necessary
-Some procedures (EKG, mini-mental state exam, ankle-brachial index, ear lavage) when indicated

Qualifications
-Medical Assistant Certificate
-CPR training
Salary : $18 - $22
