Healthcare Analyst II is the intermediate level within the Healthcare Analyst series. The Healthcare Analyst II is responsible for the further development and architecture of programming logic, modeling and machine learning algorithms to provide predictive analytical processes and reporting.
- Compile and interpret financial data from various sources to assist in the financial decision-making process. Remain abreast of trends/measures and updates relevant to healthcare industry.
- Analyze and review professional and facility contract costs, including contract analysis, performance and recommendations for improvements to optimize contracts.
- Model hospital proposed contract changes, including but not limited to shared risk pool contract for internal and external reporting.
- Responsible for architecting and overseeing the population and data accuracy of the analytics reporting databases to assist with the preparation of data for reports and dashboards.
- Develop reporting scripts and programming logic for process automation and reporting purposes.
- Support medical management teams for easier identification of more effective providers based on cost and quality by using data from claims, authorization, cases and diagnosis in EZCap.
- Utilize theoretical framework of machine learning algorithms to create and deploy predictive analytics models.
- Extract data from multiple sources using machine learning tools to organize, process, clean, and validate data. Analyze the data for information, patterns, develop prediction systems and propose solutions/strategies.
- Collaborate with other staff to develop dashboards and/or reports to present to key stake holders. Validate and ensure report integrity.
- Process ad-hoc reports/analysis and research requests, as requested by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or closely related field. Master Degree in Health Care Administration, Data Science, Statistics or related field, preferred.
- 4-5 years of experience in analytics, finance or healthcare industry. 2-3 years of experience in predictive analytics and data mining, preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting/ visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI or Power Query, preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including advanced joins, subqueries, tables, indexes and stored procedures.
- Intermediate programming knowledge in Python or R, preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate with individuals within all levels of the organization, providers and others.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision, multi-tasking abilities.
- Ability to collaborate with others and be a contributing member of a cross-functional team.
- Ability to utilize critical and analytical thinking, creativity and judgement to problem solve and accomplish goals. Ability to derive conclusions from facts or premises.
- At the discretion of DOHC/FHC management, this position has the potential to be a full or hybrid telecommuting position. Residency in CA is required.
