Job Summary
We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team! As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will be responsible for conducting the initial assessment of a patient, including listening to their complaints or concerns, obtaining a relevant medical history, and measuring intraocular pressures, refraction, visual acuities, and more. You will also assist as needed with procedures done by the doctor in-office, help educate patients on eye health and best practices, and maintain an organized, clean work environment at all times. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and is extremely organized.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct patient work-ups, including history taking and documentation of the patient's chief complaint.
  • Review of systems and all pertinent ocular findings.
  • Perform testing including VA measurements, topography, lensometry, auto-refraction, OCT, retinal photography, and Humphrey Visual Field testing.
  • Educate patients on best practices and eye health
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace at all times

  • Qualifications
  • Must be computer literate and be able to enter data into EMRs.
  • Fluency in typing/proficiency with computers.
  • Cleaning instruments using standard sterile processes.
  • Cleaning, stocking inventory, opening/closing exam rooms.
  • Ability to multitask &; work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage tasks involving a high level of detail & excellent Written/Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Professionalism and common courtesy at all times.
  • Ability to work well in a strong team setting.
  • Other administrative tasks as needed
Previous experience as an ophthalmic tech is preferred.

Salary is commensurate with skill level and experience.
