Summary:
The Warehouse Forklift Operator/Material Clerk will work with a team to provide logistics assistance to move, stage, locate and relocate materials. Forklift Operator/Clerk will operate a forklift with safety, care and efficiency, throughout the plant and warehouses. This individual will be tasked with receiving, unloading/loading, or moving materials and assist with tracking damaged products, inbound/outbound to achieve outstanding manufacturing results. Forklift Operator/Clerk will further collaborate with the production team to ensure timely delivery of materials needed to support the production lines.
Essential Functions:
· Collaboration between the material handling, and Production work groups to achieve results, improving individual technical skills and enabling collaboration across boundaries
· Support raw material and finished goods inventory with physical inventories
· Establish and sustain sound relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovative methods are used to involve others in creative solutions to issues
· Perform daily inspection of equipment in use
· Knowledge of record keeping with accuracy to demonstrate tracking ability for department and plant objectives on a day to day basis
· Ensure timely deliverables around flow of materials for the site through process implementation and improvement
· Interact daily with Quality, Operations, Planning, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to achieve daily logistics goals
· Operate a forklift in a safe manner in and around other employees
· Change equipment battery or LP tank and monitor power source as necessary
· Maintain the plant equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
· Broad understanding and experience with USDA, FDA/FSMA, SQF standards and regulations
· Broad understanding and experience with HACCP/HARPC, GMPs, SOPs
· Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards and regulations including but not limited to pest control, allergen control, lot traceability, foodborne pathogens, sanitation practices, environmental monitoring, recall programs, etc.
· Knowledge of how to drive a forklift (sit-down/stand-up) with care
· Pallet jack experience (electric/manual)
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills
· Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change
· Demonstrated understanding of technology and providing solutions to technical challenges
· Strong conceptual skills and ability to implement change
· Mature approach to challenging situations and environments
· Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
· Ability to understand and use inventory management tools
· Flexibility to work off shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
· Communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
· Bi-lingual English / Spanish ability
Specific Training Required:
Trainings include New Employee Orientation, Safety, and Forklift Training.
Working Conditions:
This position requires working near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to varying degrees of heat and/or cold around 5 to 105 degrees. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. There is regular forklift and employee traffic in the production area. Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
Physical Requirements:
The employee must have the ability to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their fingers, stand, walk and reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs or crawl. Vision abilities require close vision. The employee needs to be able to work in an environment where there are machines, machine noise and moving parts.
Minimum Education, Experience, and Qualifications Required:
· 1 years of logistics or warehouse mid-size food or beverage manufacturing company. Should have knowledge of the following regulations and agencies with respect to food or beverage manufacturing:
o USDA
o FDA/FSMA
o SQF/BRC/FSSC22000
o OSHA
o Trace Recall and Lot Tracking
