Area Child Development Specialist
Experience in child care center setting. BA in Early Childhood education Site Supervisor Permit is required.
Objective: Under the direct supervision of the Education Specialist, the Area Child Development Specialist will be responsible for ensuring each site assigned meets program quality and is in compliance with State Department of Education, Title 5, Funding Terms and Conditions; Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing, Title 22; and Local, State, County, Fire, Building and Safety mandates. The Area Child Development Specialist provides on-going technical support and assistance and direct supervision of assigned Site Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a Bachelor of Arts and/or Science degree in Family Consumer Science or similar field. Combination of education and experience may be substituted for education requirement. Must possess valid Commission on Teacher Credentialing Site Supervisor Permit at the time of application; Completion of coursework authorizing instruction of Infants and Toddlers. A minimum of 2 years Teaching experience and 2 Years Supervision experience, preferably with federal and/or state subsidized childcare program. Candidate must demonstrate computer literacy Knowledge of Title 5 and Title 22 regulations Physical clearance including tuberculosis screening required prior to assignment; Criminal Background Clearance and fingerprint clearance (state and national) required prior to start of employment.
