What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Supervisor position at DESERT PRESCHOOL ACADEMY?
RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of the Site Supervisor will include but not to be limited to the following:
· Ensure facility is maintained to meet the health and safety standards daily in accordance with program compliance
· Ensure adequate staffing to meet hourly ratios and maintain supervision of children at all times
· Ensure the use of curriculum is planned and developed offering age-appropriate individualized activities to meet student's unique needs and developmental levels including physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development
- Ensure completion of daily collection of the DRDP Anecdotal Notes, and inputting daily entries into Learning Genie platform including but not limited to Anecdotal notes, photos and communication to families
· Monitor communication amongst families and staff within Learning Genie App platform.
· Complete and submit agency compliance reporting including but not limited to ERS, DRDP, summary of findings, follow-ups, family language instruments, ASQs, and completion of parent teacher conferences
· Observe and provide feedback to ensure quality of interaction amongst staff and students to the standards of the CLASS tool
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly records are maintained for timely submission
· Monitor, supervise, organize and conduct parent education and parent involvement activities.
· Monitor and track employee attendance, time off approvals to ensure adherence to set schedules.
· Plan staff schedules to meet center needs and ratios, modify as needed
· Supervision, coaching, and management of center staff
· Conduct and attend monthly site, staff development meetings and additional trainings as needed
- Ensure a positive and inclusive environment for students of all needs including the implementation of IEP, IFSP and/or behavior support plan goals.
· Responsible for submitting supply request for facility needs in accordance with assigned “Supply Request Calendar”
· Ensure site-based orientation trainings are conducted for new employees, volunteers, or interns, submitting necessary documentation for Human Resource.
· Complete preliminary Incident/Injury and/or Unusual Incident Reports; submitting to Program Director within specified timeline
· Responsible for submitting Potential Areas of Concern for facility maintenance
- Additional duties as assigned for program needs and compliance
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
● Possess a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or
● AA/AS Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, (preferred) or a minimum of 24 ECE/CDE semester units to include administration and adult supervision courses.
● Supervisor for infant centers must have completed a minimum of (6) infant/toddler units in ECE or CDE.
● Experience: Previous teaching experience or experience working with children
● Personal Qualities: Need to be friendly and inviting. Need to adapt easily and enjoy learning. Open to constructive feedback that enhances the organization.
● TB Clearance (every four years)/Physical (once upon hire)
● Fingerprinting Clearance by FBI, DOJ, Child Abuse Index and these criminal records are required for employment
● Vaccines(TDAP every 10 years and MMR)
● Flu Shot annually or medical declination
● CPR/ First Aid Certification (every two years)
● Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207 every two years)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
● Ability to work in a classroom setting
● Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management
● Ability to carry and lift up to 40 lbs.
● Ability to sit for long periods of time
● Ability to bend, lift, and carry
● Ability to complete tasks with numerous interruptions
● Ability to supervise numerous children at once, while ensuring safety as a priority
● Ability to be prepared for accidents and emergency drills at any time
