What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN TNCC Instructor Per Diem Days position at Desert Regional Medical Center?
Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385-bed acute-care hospital classified as a stroke receiving center and level 2 trauma facility with an innovative, patient centered and evidence-based Rehabilitation Services Department. Our compassionate team provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation, joint replacement & spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, Telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, as well as outpatient therapy, hand and lymphedema clinics.
GENERAL DUTIES:
TNCC Instructor will enhance our team of expert trauma nursing educators. Teaching the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) to nurses specializing in emergency care. Utilize evidence-based teaching methodologies to impart high-quality trauma nursing education, ultimately leading to improved patient care outcomes.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Facilitate the TNCC courses in alignment with the standards and protocols established by the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA).
- Employ a range of instructional techniques, including lectures, practical demonstrations, simulations, and case-based learning, to fully engage learners.
- Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on learners' knowledge, practical skills, and overall performance.
- Regularly update and maintain your clinical expertise and instructional capabilities.
- Collaborate with fellow TNCC instructors and course directors to maintain the consistency and excellence of the TNCC program.
- Advocate for the importance of trauma nursing education and its practices within the healthcare community and beyond.
- Current registration as a TNCC provider or course director.
- A minimum of two years' experience in emergency nursing.
- Successful completion of the TNCC Instructor course, including online modules, classroom sessions, and skill stations.
- Proven ability to effectively teach and assess the TNCC curriculum.
- Exceptional clinical skills coupled with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Current CA Registered Nurse License
- BSN Required
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification (maintain current at all times)
- Current registration as a TNCC provider or course director.
- A minimum of two years' experience in emergency nursing.
- Successful completion of the TNCC Instructor course, including online modules, classroom sessions, and skill stations.
- Proven ability to effectively teach and assess the TNCC curriculum.
- Exceptional clinical skills coupled with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
