Job Description
DRI’s Financial Services Office is recruiting for a Temporary Grants Analyst professional to perform post award accounting functions under the direction of the Post Award Financial Manager. This position works with federal, state, local government, and private sponsors. This position provides post award accounting activities, including day-to-day administrative and financial functions such as reviewing award contracts and award set-up, maintenance, invoicing, and close-out. The Grants Analyst will also provide support and assistance to division business managers, faculty, staff, and sponsors regarding post-award accounting activities. This position is based in Reno, NV, but is eligible for a flexible work schedule (hybrid or remote).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors and maintains document files, reports, payments for active and subawards;
- Corresponds with the divisions and sponsors to ensure needs are being met;
- Enters and verifies budget modifications and no-cost extensions;
- Verifies approvals for all account modifications;
- Reviews all award transactions;
- Prepares monthly billing summaries for assigned awards;
- Prepares invoices for sponsors per terms and conditions of each award;
- Monitors outstanding invoices;
- Reviews each award monthly for expenditures and modifications;
- Reviews all award agreements noting the terms, conditions, and regulations;
- Sets up and manages cost share accounts and subawards;
- Processes approved subaward payments.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with two (2) years of full-time accounting or grants and contracts experience
- Experience with financial accounting systems
- Intermediate Excel experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Grants and Contracts in a University or Non-profit entity
- Working knowledge of Workday financial management or similar software
- Knowledge of Uniform Guidance and/or audit process

- Individual initiative and ability to work with minimal direct supervision;
- Attention to details
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to develop working relationships with divisions, faculty, and staff;
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; excellent time management skills. Ability to handle time pressures and adhere to deadlines.
Conditions of Employment

- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Compensation Grade/Benefits
This is a DRI Administrative Faculty-B position with an annual base salary range of $60,000- $80,000, and starting salary is commensurate with education and experience.
DRI offers a benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, land life insurance; including 17.5% retirement match, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 12 paid holidays, educational benefits, and the choice of three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts. Additionally, there is no state income tax and no social security deduction. This position is eligible for relocation assistance.
