Job Description
This position is for a Research Professor-Remote Sensing Subject Matter Expert to provide scientific and technical advice and counsel to Desert Research Institute (DRI) and their support of the US Department of Energy - National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation R&D (NA-22) and the US Department of Defense - Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). The successful candidate will provide support to both programmatic and technical leads for NA-22, the local Nevada Field Office, DTRA and their contractors as needed. This position is responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of the execution of the Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation Research and Development (DNN R&D) mission. The successful candidate will support the DRI DOE / NNSA Technical Research Engineering and Development (TREDS) Program Manager in the execution of the DNN sponsored work scope for the TREDS and DTRA contracts. This position will include development of programmatic reports, support for expert panels, and mentoring of students and early career researchers. The term of this position is conditional on continued NNSA and DoD funding.

This position is contingent upon the approval of a statement of work (SOW) / Task Assignment and the requisite funding from NNSA under the DRI / DOE TREDS contract 89233122CNA000255. This position is for support to the NNSA sponsor on an as needed basis. It is anticipated that at least 100 hours and up to a maximum of 1000 hours per year will be requested. The pay schedule is $125 per hour.
