Hospice QAPI Administrator

Job Summary:
The Hospice QAPI (Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement) Administrator is responsible for overseeing, developing, and implementing the hospice Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. This role ensures compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, state and federal regulations, and industry best practices. The QAPI Administrator works collaboratively with leadership and clinical teams to drive continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance while enhancing the overall quality of care provided to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Program Management:
  • Develop, implement, and manage the QAPI program in accordance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.
  • Establish performance improvement projects and quality indicators to measure and improve patient care outcomes.
  • Analyze data trends and identify areas for improvement, ensuring corrective action plans are developed and executed.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Audits:
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, state hospice regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., CHAP, Joint Commission).
  • Prepare and present QAPI reports to leadership and governing bodies.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, surveys, and investigations, ensuring timely responses and corrective actions.
  • Data Collection & Analysis:
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to assess clinical performance and patient outcomes.
  • Lead root cause analyses, adverse event reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Implement quality improvement tools such as Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles.
  • Education & Training:
  • Provide ongoing education and training to staff on quality improvement principles, best practices, and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure clinical staff are engaged in quality initiatives and understand their role in improving patient care.
  • Collaboration & Leadership:
  • Work closely with clinical, administrative, and interdisciplinary teams to integrate quality improvement initiatives into daily operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between hospice leadership, staff, and regulatory agencies regarding quality and compliance issues.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or other relevant healthcare degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in hospice, home health, or healthcare quality improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Experience in data analysis, performance improvement methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and quality reporting systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Hospice and Palliative Care (CHPN) is a plus.
  • Experience leading QAPI programs in a hospice or home health setting.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.21 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
