Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated healthcare professional to join our fast-paced Pain Management and Physical Medicine clinic. This full-time role is essential in ensuring smooth patient care and clinic operations through performing administrative responsibilities such as answer phones, submitting authorizations, calling insurance companies and performing clinical duties. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, compassionate team player with strong clinical skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks while maintaining a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Take vitals, including manual blood pressure measurements.
- Assist in completing and reviewing patient history and physical exams, including updating patient charts and medication records.
- Deliver patient screeners during the intake process that increase efficiency within clinic workflow and patient care.
- Explain treatments, procedures, and medications based off physician's instructions.
- Submit authorization for medications to insurance companies.
- Ensure patient messaging is delivered to provider is a timely manner.
- Clinical Support:
- Prepare and maintain exam and procedure rooms to ensure they are sterilized, neat, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Administer injections and assist with other in-office procedures that are within scope of practice.
- Work with procedure and sedation nurses to set up procedure trays, room turnover and ensuring sterile technique is followed.
- Administrative Support:
- Answer phone calls and assist patients with appointment scheduling and processing medication refills.
- Schedule and coordinate procedures and routine office appointments.
- Prepare patient charts for upcoming visits and review schedules in advance.
- Contact medical facilities and departments to schedule patients for tests, procedures, or admission.
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant Certificate is preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in a medical office setting, particularly in pain management or physical medicine, is a preferred.
- Proficiency in taking manual blood pressure and other vitals.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high patient volume environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and work in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
