JOB SUMMARY:
The Hospice Care Consultant (HCC) is responsible for leading the business development activities to drive admissions and census within an assigned book of business. Through cross-functional cooperation, the HCC is responsible for the total value creation from the account relationships within the book of business. The HCC will be the primary face of the company to these referral sources and will develop business plans, marshal the company's resources to secure growth, build collaboration, and report success against these plans.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Promote and practice the Desert Valley Hospice mission and vision, "To honor life and provide compassionate, high-quality care that enhances the live of individuals with life limiting illnesses."
• Develop, execute, and regularly evaluate strategic marketing plans including tactics designed to meet budgeted admission and census goals
• Conduct strategic planning of assigned territory to identifying opportunities for additional or improved services to address customer needs
• Learn and execute the company's consultative selling strategy to build sustainable relationships with targeted referral customers to include accountability for all customer service measures in assigned accounts
• Participate in sales meetings to include sales forecasting and strategic planning and analysis for assigned territory
• Maintain professional and clinical competence including, but not limited to, hospice, palliative, and primary care eligibility requirements and criteria
• Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of the business to include government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources, and competitor's market positioning
• Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of community resources in order to assist customers in accessing community resources should services not be provided by the company
• Exhibit compliance in the utilization of the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program to manage accounts, contacts, calendar, routing schedules, and call notes
• Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and guidelines, corporate identity, and admission standards
• Take initiative to develop and maintain relationships within the admissions department, as well as clinical personnel, to ensure effective communication both internally and externally for our referral customers
• Maintain an organized approach to territory management
• Maintain a professional personal appearance including your vehicle used for company business
• Responsible for all sales administration duties including, but not limited to, expense reports, payroll time sheets, PTO requests, paperwork (POC) delivery, or pick-up when needed
• All other duties as assigned
