Hospice Chaplain – Desert Valley Hospice
Location: Menifee and surrounding areas
Rate: $32-$40 per hour; per diem role

About the Role
As a Hospice Chaplain, you will provide spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring their needs are met with respect, dignity, and sensitivity. You will be a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, collaborating with healthcare professionals and community spiritual counselors to deliver comprehensive end-of-life care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct spiritual assessments for patients and families, providing direct spiritual care.
- Participate in the development of individualized care plans tailored to spiritual needs.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in our electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Offer education, support, and consultation to the interdisciplinary team regarding spiritual care.
- Serve as a liaison between hospice and community chaplains, spiritual counselors, and volunteers.
- Facilitate memorial services, provide grief counseling, and assist in bereavement program development.
- Actively participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
- Education & Experience: Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, M.Div., or equivalent). Licensed ordained minister or equivalent experience. Previous hospice experience is preferred.
- Skills & Knowledge: A deep understanding of hospice philosophy, comfort in interfaith settings, and an ability to respect diverse lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Certifications: Licensed driver with access to an insured, reliable vehicle.
- Personal Qualities: Empathy, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to supporting patients and families through their journey.
