Senior Financial Analyst

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. This role will be instrumental in providing management reporting, land forecasting, and FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) support to our homebuilding operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background and experience in the homebuilding or real estate industry.
It is imperative that the Senior Financial Analyst maintain a mindset of continual improvement and work diligently to foster a culture of continual improvement within the team, department, and company.

Key Responsibilities:
MANAGEMENT REPORTING:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights to senior management.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather and interpret financial data for management reporting.
- Provide detailed variance analysis and performance explanations to support business decisions.
LAND FORECASTING:
- Conduct financial analysis and forecasting for land acquisitions and development projects.
- Prepare pro forma financial statements for potential land deals.
- Monitor and analyze land inventory and pipeline, including cost, revenue, and profitability projections.
- Work closely with land acquisition and development teams to evaluate potential land deals and provide financial insights.
FP&A DUTIES:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Develop financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Track and report on key financial metrics and business performance.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance financial performance.
- Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to support strategic planning.
STRATEGIC ANALYSIS:
- Support strategic planning initiatives by providing financial analysis and insights.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and modeling to support decision-making.
- Analyze market trends and economic conditions to inform strategic decisions.
OTHER:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the homebuilding or real estate industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong understanding of management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and land acquisition analysis.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis using advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
