About Us
Desi Fresh Foods is a leading cultured dairy manufacturer with over 23 years of experience. We produce high-quality and consistent products, which include yogurt (Dahi or Indian, Greek and traditional), smoothies/yogurt drinks, sour cream, and dips from single serve options to food service side.
We are seeking a skilled Line Operator to join our team at our facility in Frederick County, Virginia.
About the Role
Working hours: Monday - Friday: 6:30 am - 4 pm plus possible overtime.
Pay rate: $18/hour
The successful candidate will operate and maintain filling machines to ensure efficient and accurate packaging of yogurt products.
Responsibilities
- Machine Operation:
- Operate filling machines according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient and precise packaging of yogurt products.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal production output and quality.
- Quality Assurance:
- Follow quality control policies and procedures to ensure that products meet established standards.
- Conduct visual inspections of filled containers for defects or abnormalities and take corrective action as needed.
- Monitor product weights and adjust filling parameters to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating filling machines and working in the production area.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses immediately to the appropriate personnel.
- Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth coordination of production activities.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, such as quality assurance and maintenance, to address any production-related issues or concerns.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience operating filling machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing or food processing environment preferred
- Ability to follow written instructions and SOPs accurately
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Training may be required in Farmingdale, NY for up to 4-6 weeks.
