Structural EIT duties typically include:
- Structural Analysis: Analysis of both individual building components and analysis of complete building systems using a combination of modeling software and manual calculation.
- Seismic Design: Alaska's high seismic regions require a passion for seismic design and detailing of all construction types.
- On-site condition assessments and construction observation.
- Drafting & 3D modeling: Construct models using the latest FEM analysis software and BIM applications.
Design Alaska seeks these desirable attributes in Structural EIT applicants:
- A degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Engineering course work.
- Eager to pursue your Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alaska.
- Demonstrate a high-level understanding of structural system concepts.
- A passion for community-focused structural design projects throughout Alaska.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excitement for learning new skills and working collaboratively in team settings.
