Job Summary
As a New Commercial Electrical Helper/Apprentice, you will assist with installing and repairing materials, devices, fixtures, and equipment for commercial and industrial wiring projects. Under the supervision of experienced team members, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop the skills necessary for a long-term career in the electrical trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in installing and repairing electrical wiring, devices, and fixtures.
- Follow instructions from Foreman, Leadman, Electrician, or Apprentice.
- Safely use and maintain basic hand tools, power tools, and step ladders.
- Keep the workspace clean and free of debris throughout the day.
- Accurately measure and cut materials under supervision.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Attend and participate in job site briefings, safety meetings, and required activities.
- Take responsibility for organizing and putting away tools and materials at the end of the day.
- Review learning progress with your supervisor and seek opportunities to improve skills.
- Notify your supervisor of material or tool requirements for the upcoming week.
- Ensure batteries and tools are charged and ready for use.
- Participate in the company’s Mentorship Program.

- Tools and materials are prepared and in the right place for the task at hand.
- Tools are accounted for daily, with no losses.
- Supervisor is informed of material and tool issues promptly.
- Tasks are completed safely and with no injuries or safety violations.
- Dependable and reliable, demonstrating a strong work ethic.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Basic understanding of hand tools and power tools and their safe usage.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred:
- Enrollment in or willingness to attend an electrical apprenticeship program.
