ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an Experienced Electrician Helper to join our team in Charlottesville, VA. In this role, you will assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and industrial electrical systems while gaining hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced electricians and supervisors.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Assist in installing and repairing electrical wiring, devices, and fixtures
  • Follow instructions from the Foreman, Superintendent, Leadman, or assigned Electrician
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other equipment safely
  • Measure, cut, and bend conduit and materials to precise specifications
  • Pull wires through conduit and assist in wire termination Inspect systems for hazards or defects in compliance with NEC codes
  • Help maintain tools, materials, and work areas for efficiency and safety
  • Ensure tools and batteries are charged and ready for use each day
  • Communicate material or tool needs to your supervisor for upcoming tasks
  • Mentor less experienced helpers and foster a collaborative work environment
  • Participate in our Mentorship Program and continuously seek skill improvement

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU


Experience & Skills:

  • 1-2 years of electrical experience
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safe ladder use
  • Ability to measure, cut, bend, and thread materials accurately
  • Experience pulling wires and assisting with wire termination
  • Basic understanding of electrical diagrams and blueprints
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., perform physically demanding tasks, and work in various weather conditions

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to enroll in and electrical apprenticeship program: We cover tuition and books!
  • Willingness to learn and operate heavy equipment

  • Complete tasks efficiently and professionally, with minimal waste or errors
  • Maintain a safe work environment, preventing injuries and violations
  • Ensure tools and materials are organized and prepared daily
  • Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and the ability to work independently
