Job Summary:
As a Tower Climber at Design Telecommunications, you will assist the Crew Lead or Foreman with the installation, maintenance, and repair of wireless communication equipment, electrical components, and structural elements at height. You’ll play a key role in supporting high-quality, compliant, and safe installations across various job sites. Key Responsibilities:

Assist in assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, wireless equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools

Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning wireless equipment using test equipment and tools

Terminate wires to fiber ports, power ports, RF connections, grounding, and other electrical components of a wireless site

Inspect wireless equipment and components for hazards, defects, and compliance with the NEC and Facility Construction Documents (FCDs)
-
Help plan and install equipment based on FCDs and site requirements
-
Mentor and train less experienced team members in proper procedures
-
Interpret technical drawings and site plans to ensure correct installations
-
Operate power construction and testing equipment such as sweep gear, PIM testers, voltage testers, meggers, and antenna alignment tools

Work from ladders, scaffolds, rooftops, and towers to install or maintain wireless gear

Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and provided specs
Operational Duties:

Review daily material needs and tool requirements
-
Maintain accurate records of completed and pending work
-
Ensure proper use and storage of tools and equipment
-
Secure the work area and lock it properly at the end of each shift

Show up ready to work on time and in proper PPE

Attend and participate in job site briefings, safety meetings, and Tool Box Talks

Take part in the company mentorship program for ongoing career development
Physical Requirements:
-
Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs., hybrid line installation, and steel assembly
-
Work in various weather conditions, indoors and outdoors
-
Climb and work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and tower climbing gear
-
Strictly follow all fall protection and tower safety protocols
- Climb to heights of up to 500 feet.
Must-Have Qualifications:
-
2–4 years of experience in wireless site installation or tower climbing
-
NWSA Tower Tech 1 Certification (TT1)
-
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and site plans

Familiarity with NEC and FCDs
-
Proficient in safe use of power and hand tools, and testing equipment

Comfortable working at height and in varying weather conditions

Reliable transportation and willingness to travel

Physically fit and able to meet job demands

Dependable and team-oriented with strong communication skills
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

Mentorship or training experience
-
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
-
First Aid/CPR certification
-
CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
-
RF safety certification or fiber optics knowledge
-
Technical trade school education
