This position is responsible for ensuring that Federal, State, Institutional and outside aid for students is administered in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations and that institutional policies are adhered to. This position will also ensure institutional compliance with consumer information regulations.

Required Education

  • Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Required Experience

  • 5-7 years of general business experience, preferably in related field or a field that is highly regulated.
  • Financial Aid experience preferred.
  • PeopleSoft Campus Solution experience preferred
  • Primary Duties / Essential Functions

  • Reviews federal needs analysis documents for accuracy and follows up for income documentation for federal verification.
  • Provides researched answers to compliance questions from University leadership and staff.
  • Implements and maintains a robust consumer information communication to students in line with consumer information regulations and guidance.
  • Takes a leading role in the coordination of annual A-133, Cal Grant and other external audits.
  • Understands basic federal tax law to evaluate the accuracy of FAFSA data entry and completes verifications for families that are selected based on the Department of Educations 30% rule.
  • Internally audits federal, state, and institutional aid as well as private student loans to ensure administration within federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
  • Communicate with other SFS staff and departments across campus in a timely manner regarding adjustments needed to students financial aid award packages and other individual student circumstances.
  • Review and analyze various daily, weekly and monthly reports to ensure accuracy, discern errors, and maintain high level of student service through the financial aid process.
  • Monitor and review students academic progress to ensure ongoing eligibility for financial aid.
  • Processes required Return to Title IV program funds for students officially or unofficially withdrawing from the university.
  • Review, interpret and apply complex federal and state regulations to remain in compliance by attending conferences, workshops, webinars and other available forms of training as applicable.
  • Use PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Windows interface and Microsoft products, Archiving, COD, ELM-ONE, IFAP, NSLDS, FAA Access, Webgrants and various other financial aid websites to complete tasks.
  • Required to work one Saturday commencement event (Winter or Spring) each calendar year.

  • Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.

  • Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, primarily Excel and Word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Good command of the English language with good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan details of procedures and methods to obtain definite objectives.

  • Ability to work under pressure, exuding a mature demeanor while multi-tasking in a deadline oriented environment with accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as an independent contributor.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretionary skills in determining when to act independently and when to consult management prior to taking action.

  • This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on APU's needs.

  • Compensation

  • Grade 9 : $23.58 - $30.54 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.

    Qualifications :

  • Serve as a main point of contact for communication with Owners, OPMs and Design Teams members.
  • Coordinate and provide input during weekly meetings with subcontractors, design teams, and owner representatives to resolve field conflicts and drive resolution.
  • Support project cost and change management process : prepare reports for review with other team members and present at both Owner and internal meetings.
  • Assist in development of estimates and bid proposals for both lump sum and GMP projects.
  • Oversight / Management of Project Engineer and associated responsibilities including document Control, RFIs, Submittals, Material Delivery Tracking and Meeting Minutes.
  • Mentor : support, develop, and train supporting team members, including Project Engineers.
  • Maintain close relations with subcontractors, including early notification of submittal & material delivery schedule expectations.
  • Monitor executed subcontracts and insurance certificates; verify contracts and insurance are in place prior to commencing work.
  • Coordinate with Project Scheduler to update and distribute project master schedule with input from Superintendent and project team.
  • Assist the project Superintendent and other team members in the resolution of all critical issues, RFIs, etc. with a focus on quality, cost and schedule; provide documentation as necessary.
  • Take ownership of the closeout process : complete and implement project closeout checklist.
  • Manage close-out documentation (as-builts, O&Ms, warranties, test reports, etc.) for submission to Design Team and Owner.
  • Manage financial closeout process with subcontractors and Owner.
  • Punch List : Upload and distribute the punch list through Procore to subcontractors. Assist with coordinating work completion as required and maintain an accurate log of items to be completed.
  • Observations and Field Reports : work with project team to conduct field walks as necessary and compile any corresponding documentation accordingly.
  • Review Design Team field reports and work with required parties to resolve open items and drive to resolutions.
  • Safety : perform regular safety walks with field and safety staff and record observations.
  • Salary : $24 - $31
