What are the responsibilities and job description for the Designer position at Design Group Americas?
Innovate and design highly commercial and sellable products in collaboration with the full creative team that adheres to strategic, technical & budget constraints.
Design / Create new artwork as well as reformat existing art to create new assets.
Produce exceptional design concepts as well as prepare files for production.
Ensure presentation images, both digital mockups and sample photography, are completed to a high standard.
Able to interpret design briefs with little direction and work collaboratively as needed on projects to ensure consistent design throughout entire program is achieved.
Ensure all products are designed to the correct specifications before completing and ensure all deadlines and milestone for on-time delivery of work are met.
Maintain up to date knowledge on product category trends and competitor product lines consistently throughout the year. Actively conduct on-going market research for innovation and trend development and be able to translate this to create commercial products.
Actively participate in the presentation of new ideas for trend and innovation. Self-propel design solutions to present to the team.
Set up artwork on templates accurately and select appropriate printers based on the desired outcome for product mockups. Manage workflow effectively to handle multiple mock-up deadlines simultaneously.
Hybrid work schedule – must be available in the Atlanta office 1-3 days per week as needed to support printing for projects.
Required Skills
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in graphic / illustration or industrial design (or a related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
4 years’ experience in a related consumer products industry.
Must be proficient on a Mac Platform in Illustrator and Photoshop. Knowledge of In-Design and 3-D software programs highly preferred.
Must have experience in all Microsoft Office applications- specifically PowerPoint for creating customer presentations. Experience working in Teams strongly preferred.
Must be a highly creative individual who is able to produce exceptional commercial design and product innovation. Must have an outstanding portfolio of design and design directed product.
Manufacturing and printing knowledge of consumer products required. Highly prefer candidates with experience in categories such as, décor & gift, greeting cards, wrapping paper, stationery, gift bags etc…. Production file set-up experience and knowledge required.
Must understand technical and budget constraints when designing for each product type and work to consistently innovate new ways to work within these constraints.
Must be a highly organized and motivated individual who is able to multitask to make sure customer demands are met.
Strong communication and organization skills with close attention to detail and ability to perform well under pressure.
