What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Associate position at Design Group Americas?
- Follow established safe work practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform quality control function for raw materials and work in progress in own and other departments as requested and assist in resolving quality issues during production.
- Recommend and assist in development of quality and labeling standards and procedures.
- Keep and maintain accurate and organized records of quality inspections and track inspection numbers.
- Use JDE and FLEX to check product specifications and to check plates before they go to the press.
- Conduct physical testing and product evaluations sometimes utilizing quality testing equipment.
- Qualify retains turned in from all work centers as well as gathering random finished good samples for inspections.
- Create box tags and skid papers when needed. (Creates load labels outside of the JDE system)
- May perform testing and submit samples to GMI.
- Involvement in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities and projects.
- Communicate quality issues through proper channels and across multiple shifts.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- Ability to read, write and do math at a high school level
- Willingness to train for computer data entry and retrieval, prior experience a plus
- Willingness to train on all QC and Sample responsibilities and assist in training others.
- Good communication and cooperation/teamwork with coworkers and supervisors
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience with indicated machinery a plus
- Receptiveness to overtime required in department
- Receptiveness to cross training and rotational assignments
- Proven paperwork accuracy
- Successfully pass color discrimination and measurement testing
