AV Sales Estimator
Design & Integration, a premier technology integration contractor, is seeking an Sales Estimator to join our high-performance sales team. The Sales Estimator is an experienced industry veteran who ensures our bids are responsible. In addition to construction experience, they are familiar with products, labor take-off, contract language, bonding, RFQ’s, and RFI’s. The Estimator acts as the key contact and subject-matter expert for all proposal activities. Their duties include:
· Interprets audiovisual and low voltage technology system block diagrams, architectural drawings, and technical specifications to develop commercial audiovisual system bids.
· Identifies errors and inconsistencies in bid documents, requests clarification, and implements solutions.
· Evaluates system designs to provide value engineered alternatives while maintaining system functionality and performance requirements.
· Prepares accurate quantity take-offs and assigns pricing to audiovisual system components, installation materials, and labor.
· Generates comprehensive and competitive proposals under rigid deadlines within a high stress bidding environment.
· Coordinates tasks with engineering, sales, and other departments to review proposals, package proposals, and expedite within the bid timeline.
· Meets or exceeds monthly bid quota.
· Provides post-sales support to clientele and inside operations personnel.
· Remains actively engaged in current technology trends and maintains relationships with vendors and manufacturers.
· Communicates clearly and effectively by phone, email, and in person.
· Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, AV technology, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in proposal writing or any related experience.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for AV installations.
- Understanding of labor costs, material costs, and market pricing for AV components.
- Knowledge of vendor and supplier relationships within the AV industry.
- Recommended certifications: CTS, CTS-D, Comptia N
- Recommended manufacturer certifications: Extron, Crestron, AMX, QSC, Biamp, et al.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with sales, engineering, and project management teams.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost estimation.
