H&A is growing and looking to expand our team of professionals with Boston career-level and ownership opportunities but based out of our Worcester, MA office.
The Worcester Office Director (WOD) will lead and direct the operations of the Worcester office. Ensure high-quality architectural services with well-designed, on-budget and on-schedule projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
Worcester Office Director Responsibilities
Onsite, full time Monday to Friday schedule either 7am to 4pm, 8am to 5pm, or 9am to 6pm with 1-hour lunches. Additional hours as needed.
Travel
Approximately 10-20%travel independently to client sites primarily in MA and New England is expected for the position, with overnight travel rare.

Worcester Office Director Responsibilities
- Be the face of the Worcester Office, working towards its growth and the firm’s strategic goals.
- Team leader for Worcester team members. Provide coaching and mentoring.
- Seal drawings and provide architectural review.
- Responsible for oversight of office systems and functions. Decision maker for office supplies, equipment, IT, and landlord relations.
- Architectural registration.
- Define, monitor and maintain control of the scope of work and services for the project. including contract, project schedule and work plan.
- Monitor the performance of the project team and approach, to assure that the firm’s quality standards and design goals are being met.
- Maintain open & frequent client communication, including coordinating/conducting meetings.
- Manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, project set-up with outside consultants, vendors and contractors throughout all phases.
- Conduct, coordinate/oversee CA services during construction as needed.
- Coordinate with President and other PM’s to properly schedule resources and manage those resources to project completion.
- Meet or exceed financial goals established for the project.
- Oversee contracts, construction document preparation, plans, specifications.
- Oversee conceptual design process, planning layouts, and integrating engineering elements.
- Prepare project proposals, assist in marketing and business development as required.
- Prepare and negotiate client and consultant proposals, fees, schedules, and contracts.
- Mentor, coach and oversee training and development of team members as needed.
- Participate in H&A’s leadership team.
