What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Ready Mix Driver position at Design Precast & Pipe, Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a ready-mix concrete truck in accordance with all traffic regulations and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and mixer to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
- Safely and efficiently load and unload ready-mix concrete at the plant and customer sites.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules, ensuring on-time delivery of concrete to customer sites.
- Handle and maneuver the truck and mixer in tight spaces and on various types of terrain.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other personnel to provide updates on delivery status and address any concerns or issues.
- Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery tickets and logbooks, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all company safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck, both inside and outside.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking and adding fluids, and reporting any mechanical issues or repairs needed.
Requirements:
- Valid [Driver's License and/or any additional licenses or endorsements required for operating a ready-mix concrete truck].
- Previous experience as a professional truck driver, preferably with experience driving a ready-mix concrete truck.
- Knowledge of safe driving practices, traffic regulations, and the ability to operate vehicles safely in various weather conditions.
- Ability to read and interpret maps and navigate to customer sites efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of ready-mix concrete and the ability to identify and address potential issues related to concrete quality during delivery.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and handle heavy materials.
- Commitment to safety and following established protocols.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
