Associate Merchandiser - Caps Direct
We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Headwear Merchandiser with a strong desire to continue growing in the industry to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a background in merchandising, sales, and marketing.
As global apparel and headwear design and sourcing experts, we help Brands tell their story through high quality, innovative apparel and headwear products. DRI has the resources to ensure a fully integrated and socially compliant approach to our client’s creative development, merchandising, and operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the execution of merchandising strategy for team’s accounts.
- Assist with product development for new skus; manage factory quote sheets and creating BOMs.
- Help manage timelines and key calendar dates for larger programs by tracking and following up on both sample development and customer approvals.
- Responsible for items set-up and order entry, where needed.
- Deep understanding of knowledge of internal systems and processes
- Possess and apply understanding of the balance of product, pricing and delivery needs for each client to set merchandising and sourcing strategy.
- Independently manage smaller accounts and provide support for senior team members on larger / shared accounts.
- Working knowledge of reporting systems and beginning understanding of how to review and react to business trends.
- Comfortable presenting in client presentations.
- Ability to problem solve minor issues in the product development or supply chain process.
- Proactively seek out new opportunities to grow the business and further personal & professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in merchandising, marketing, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of related apparel/headwear product development experience.
- Must have a general knowledge of the apparel/headwear industry.
- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
- Interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and to work effectively in a team approach.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task on a daily basis.
- Computer application knowledge including Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, SAP, and Centric (PLM system).
