What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Design Release Engineer position at Design West Technologies, Inc.?
Summary:
Under Engineering Program Manager's supervision, responsible for Multi-Filter product line.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
•Lead the design, development, and delivery of Multi-Filter products.
•Lead change control, technical issue resolution and program Engineering deliverables for sub- components.
•Coordinate, support and/or create 3D designs to package sub-components into the overall system assemblies.
•Prepare 2D drawings of designs.
•Lead Design Reviews and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analyses.
•Develop and maintain program-specific Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEAs).
•Support component and assembly builds from initial prototype through full production launch.
•Develop and execute Design Verification Plan (DVP). Maintain and release final testing report (DVP&R) to validate requirements.
•Perform internal engineering testing as needed. Coordinate validation efforts with external suppliers, as well as internal departments.
•Track engineering issues to support regularly occurring open concerns/issues reviews.
•Provide summary snapshots of program imperatives (part timing, part maturity, release status, validation status, etc.) as required by Program Team.
Education Requirements:
•B.S. or M.S in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
Experience Requirements:
•Minimum 3-5 years of experience within manufacturing facility, preferably aerospace/automotive/ defense industry.
•Experience launching new models / products into volume production.
•Managing BOM content attributes in PDM/ERP systems (SolidWorks PDM direct experience preferred)
•Working with Manufacturing teams and suppliers to understand and implement DFA / DFM learnings
•Advanced CAD knowledge; SolidWorks strongly preferred
•Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analyses
•Experience in DFMEA, DVP&R and PFMEA
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:
•Technical background with understanding of military product developments, including military standards and specifications (MIL, etc.)
•Detailed knowledge of relevant manufacturing techniques / processes for both low- and high-volume production (sheet metal fabrication, machining, injection molding, welding)
•Experience working on mechatronic projects.
