Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Control Planner to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The Production Control Planner will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and coordination of production activities to ensure optimal efficiency and timely delivery of products. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of production processes, and the ability to collaborate with various departments to meet customer demands and production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Scheduling & Planning:
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and material availability.
- Coordinate production activities to ensure alignment with inventory levels, capacity, and deadlines.
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure that raw materials and components are available to meet production demands.
- Work closely with procurement to order materials and components in a timely manner.
- Review and adjust production schedules based on inventory and material constraints.
- Workflow Optimization:
- Analyze production processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement in terms of efficiency, lead times, and cost reduction.
- Work with production teams to implement changes and track improvements.
- Cross-Department Coordination:
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth production operations.
- Communicate any potential production delays or issues to relevant departments and stakeholders.
- Facilitate the resolution of any production or supply chain bottlenecks.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting:
- Address and resolve any production-related issues, such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns.
- Work with team members to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (3 years) in production planning or control in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and inventory management.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- APICS certification or other supply chain management certifications.
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge and experience.
- Familiarity with the principles of just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing and Kanban systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of materials or components (up to 25 lbs).
- Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment.
