Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is crucial for maintaining our financial health by ensuring timely collection of payments, managing the accounts receivable ledger, and performing general accounting tasks to support our financial department. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting practices, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Hours:

Part-time, approximately 8-16 hours per week (1-2 days a week, flexible)

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage the company's accounts receivable portfolio to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
• Initiate collection efforts via phone, email, or mail, and maintain detailed records of all communications.
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Resolve any discrepancies or disputes related to invoicing and payments in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist in month-end closing procedures and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Enter general accounting bills into our financial system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
• Collaborate with the sales and customer service departments to resolve billing issues and improve the customer payment process.
• Prepare and present reports related to accounts receivable and billing activities.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in accounts receivable, general bookkeeping, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
