What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gardener position at Designer Blooms?
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for planting, weeding, and installing plants as well as maintaining existing ones. This may include tasks such as watering, pruning, fertilizing, and insect/pest control. Training for this position will be available to you through the company by hands on experience, but existing horticultural knowledge is a bonus. Other job duties to be expected or learned can include: assisting with loading/unloading plant material and equipment, basic operation and maintenance of tools, assisting with greenhouse operations and care of plant material.
About You
The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of horticulture, as well as experience with a variety of plants and landscape types. They should be able to work independently and be able to identify and troubleshoot problems as they arise. A valid driver's license is required and the ability to follow instructions and work with a team. Applicants must be able to comfortably bend, walk and kneel for 8 hours, lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions (rain, snow, extreme cold or heat). Designer Blooms provides a 2 week paid training program at the start of the season. You'll have everything you need to start working with our customers when your first day in the truck!

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
