POSITION OVERVIEW
Seeking an accomplished Senior Vice President (SVP) of Engineering to lead an Engineering, Data Science, and AI department for our client. As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will drive the company’s technical strategy, innovation, and operational excellence, ensuring that engineering efforts align with long-term goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership & Vision
Develop and implement an engineering and AI strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalability, innovation, and operational efficiency.
Drive the company’s technical vision and roadmap, ensuring the firm remains ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Partner with the executive team to define long-term goals, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
Team Leadership & Culture
Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team, cultivating a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative work culture.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and accountability.
Champion Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B) within the organization.
Represent the Engineering team in executive and cross-functional leadership meetings, advocating for resources and alignment on priorities.
Engineering & Technical Execution
Oversee the development and delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable software solutions.
Ensure the successful execution of product roadmaps by collaborating closely with Product, Sales, Business Development, Customer Success, and Support teams.
Guide infrastructure and platform strategies, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Provide technical oversight across a wide range of challenges, offering strategic guidance and feedback.
Establish and track engineering KPIs to measure system reliability, team productivity, and performance, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
Data Science, AI & Security
Oversee data science and AI initiatives, ensuring the firm stays at the forefront of AI and machine learning advancements.
Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and security best practices across all systems.
Lead efforts in data-driven decision-making, leveraging analytics and AI to enhance offerings.
Operational & Financial Management
Manage budgets, aligning engineering priorities with financial objectives.
Oversee vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts for tools, software, platforms, and services critical to engineering operations.
Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resource allocation.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership
Work closely with executive leadership and key stakeholders to ensure engineering initiatives align with company objectives.
Partner with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, accelerate product development, and enhance customer experience.
Advocate for engineering resources and ensure alignment on company priorities.
REQUIREMENTS Must Have
15 years of progressive engineering experience, including 10 years in leadership roles within software development or technical operations.
Proven success managing distributed engineering teams of 25 members.
5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams comprising data scientists, data engineers, and software engineers.
Strong background in AdTech and experience building and scaling complex technical systems.
Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Snowflake, and Databricks.
In-depth knowledge of privacy laws) and security best practices.
Experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and aligning engineering priorities with business goals.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
A strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative organizational culture.
Nice to Have
Expertise in AI / ML technologies, including deep learning, recommendation systems, and MLOps.
Experience with DataOps and large-scale data processing.Familiarity with consumer-facing products and transforming technical stacks.
Background in DevOps practices and tools.
Experience leading teams through the transition from proof of concept to production.
Previous experience in small to medium-sized businesses with dynamic and collaborative cultures.
Travel Requirements
Travel up to 25% of the time for on-site team retreats, leadership meetings, and company-wide events.
