What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Project Engineer - Miami position at DeSimone Consulting Engineers?
Target compensation for this position is $75,000 - $88,000, based on experience and location. This position is classified as salaried, exempt position.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering. Masters of Science degree a plus.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a Structural Project Engineering role
- Ability to perform design and analysis of low, mid, and high-rise buildings utilizing software packages such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE
- Extensive Knowledge of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood design standards, as well as local and national building codes required.
- Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.
- Ability to work in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, problem solving and team skills.
- Relevant experience in structural analysis and design a plus.
- Construction experience a plus.
- Looking for a Project Engineer candidate to be licensed or looking to get their PE.

For this particular position, we expect to hire near the middle of the range. To be considered for this role, we are looking for candidates with at least 4 years of experience in the industry, and have a Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Masters of Science degree a plus, and a Professional Engineer’s (PE) license or ability to obtain.
We understand that there may be rare and exceptional circumstances where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position. In these cases, we may consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
