A leading veterinary organization is seeking an experienced Regional Medical Director to oversee 20-35 veterinary hospitals across the Southwest. This full-time, salaried role requires weekly travel to various practice locations, with at least 8 days per month spent in clinical settings. The ideal candidate should be based in the Denver, Colorado area, although candidates from Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Houston, and Dallas are encouraged to apply.
In this role, the Regional Medical Director will be responsible for overseeing hospital operations, ensuring the highest level of patient care, mentoring veterinarians, and fostering a positive client experience. The position also involves collaborating with the leadership team to ensure smooth operations, while also addressing any clinical or staffing challenges.
Key Responsibilities :
- Leadership & Mentorship : Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to veterinarians, helping them navigate complex cases and develop professionally.
- Operational Oversight : Manage day-to-day operations across multiple hospitals, ensuring excellent patient care, efficient appointments, and a high standard of client satisfaction.
- Clinical Staffing Support : Fill shifts as needed, particularly in urgent situations, ensuring that hospitals are properly staffed at all times.
- Performance Monitoring : Analyze performance data such as revenue, client visits, and other key metrics to identify areas for improvement. Work closely with Practice Managers to implement strategies for improvement.
- Collaboration & Communication : Promote strong communication across teams, mediate conflicts, and guide DVM protocols to maintain a collaborative and positive working environment.
- Compliance & Reporting : Ensure all hospitals meet compliance standards, monitor regulatory logs, and provide updates on corporate projects.
- Hands-On Practice : Work in clinical settings a minimum of 8 days per month to stay connected with staff and maintain high-quality patient care.
- Travel & Corporate Duties : Fulfill corporate responsibilities such as meetings, travel, and project management, while ensuring a balanced workload across the region.
